Wi-Fi Mesh Wireless Self-Organizing Network Solution Based on Four-Faith 5G Industrial Router F-NR100
Date:2023-06-06 11:36:04
Background
In the smart factory plant area, there are usually hundreds of terminals, including handheld terminals, CNC machines, AGV robots, industrial pads, etc. Currently, the main difficulties are:
(1) Wired deployment is difficult: The customer has a very large plant. Due to the large size and complex environment of the plant area, fiber optic cables or network cables are often used to network devices. Each device needs to be connected to a network cable, and many switches are also required on site to access. However, fiber optic cables and network cables can age and break, affecting efficiency and making troubleshooting difficult.
(2) Single WiFi networking is unstable: There are multiple routers installed in an existing WiFi network in a factory. If the SSID of each router is the same, interference may occur in areas where signals intersect, resulting in severe packet loss. If different SSIDs are configured, each device must be configured separately to connect to different WiFi routers and cannot leave the current WiFi coverage of the router, which is very inflexible. Industries like AGV have extremely high requirements for stability and latency. Once an error occurs during device operation, the loss is huge. The current single WiFi network cannot meet the requirements for latency and reliability.
(3) Large amount of data, current network unable to support: There are hundreds or even thousands of networked devices in the factory. The amount of calculation and data interaction per second is tens of thousands, so the lack of existing network infrastructure is even more prominent, often causing data collection interruptions due to network issues.

Introduction
To solve the above problems, Four-Faith launched a 5G + Mesh wireless self-organizing network solution and developed a 5G wireless Mesh router to access many terminals and seamless roaming.
By deploying multiple Four-Faith 5G industrial Mesh routers, a tree-like network is formed to achieve Mesh networking and cover the entire plant area. The Mesh routers adopt 802.11k/v/r protocols, which allow clients to roam more smoothly from one access point (AP) to another within the same network.
In simple terms, MESH networking means real-time data interaction between AP and AP, AP and client. After the AP knows all the signal strength, rate, and other information of the currently connected WiFi terminals, it calculates the most suitable AP for the current client to access. If it is not the currently connected AP, it informs the client to roam to the appropriate AP, and informs the other AP. When this client roams and accesses, no password verification is required, thereby increasing roaming speed.
